I smiled and nodded, waving at him as I closed the car door and went to the front door. I opened it and looked around. "Aunt Josephine?" I called out, letting my bag slide to the floor. "Sorry I was late, I went to the beach with some friends I made today..."

I kept a smile on my face till she was inside her house. I then sighed and pulled out of the driveway, and headed a little ways down to my house. I was not ready to go in and face everything. I go to the beach to get away, and to know that there is something beautiful out in this world.

I didn't hear Aunt Josephine anywhere, nor did I see her when I looked through the house so I fished out my cellphone and called her. It took her a few rings to answer. "Marly?" she answered, sounding harried. "Aunt Josephine, I'm at home, I'm really sorry I'm late, I went to the beach with some friends I met today, and I just got back, where are you?" I said, all in the same breath. She laughed lightly on the other end. "I went to the store, I realized we didn't have any cereal or chips...are you alright there on your own for about another half hour or so?" she asked. I uncertainly looked around. The house was clean, as always.
