Falling in Love in a Coffee Shop

I raised an eyebrow at him, still smiling slightly. I put his money into the register, then handed him the change. "It's fine. I'm kind of used to it," I said, shrugging.

Travis;
I pursed my lips,"Well that's not a nice thing to get use to,"I glancing behind me to luckily still see my friends outside messing around. "What's your name?"I asked looking back at her.

Serenity
I leaned against the bar, looking at him. "Serenity," I said, laughing and pointing to my name tag. He was kind of cute, in that sweet-good-guy-I-chose-a-sensible-major-and-will-probably-end-up-being-an-accountant kind of way. And I mean, he certainly wasn't bad-looking.

[lauren.]

Travis;
I chuckled a little as she pointed to her name tag,"Right name tag,"I said rubbing the back of my neck. I looked at her smiling,"I'm Travis,"I said sticking my hand out for her to shake.

Serenity
I smiled at him and nodded again, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you, Travis," I said, actually genuinely smiling. I might just like this guy.

[lauren.]

Travis;
I grinned as we shook hands. I pulled my hand back liking her smile. I jumped slightly as I heard something hit the window up front and noticed the guys where pushing each other, laughing, against the window. I groaned,"Well I should get them away from here. Nice to meet you Serenity. Sorry for how my friends acted and let your friend know also,"I said pushing away from the counter,"And by the way, I like your smile,"I said grinning at her as I turned and walked back to the table, putting a good amount of tip on the table and grabbing my books.

My smile subconsciously widened, and I watched him leave the shop as one of the cooks, Marie, and Nicki came up and stood beside me at the bar. "Soooo," Nicki said, smiling slyly at me. She was a Barbie doll, there wasn't any better way to explain it. "That was one of the guys from the jackass table, yeah?" I blushed and shook my head, still smiling. Damn. "He was the nice one!"

[lauren.]

Travis;
I stepped outside and stopped John from.hitting the window,"Knock it off guys & did you have to be assholes to those waitresses?"I asked raising an eyebrow. "You're lucky they didn't spit in your food,"I said shaking my head,"Lets go,"I said pushing them down the sidewalk. All they did was laugh and roll their eyes. They always thought I was to soft when it came to women. Well yeah, because they're women. You don't disrespect them.

The shop was pretty busy today. I'd spent most of the morning cleaning up after fumbling Freshman and stupid seniors who decided they wanted to celebrate the third week of classes with liquor-laced espressos and super sweet sticky buns. It was chaotic. Nicki and I were dancing around each other, trying to get to everybody.

[lauren.]

Travis;
I guess you could say that I probably walked by the coffee shop every day now, though not going in. I don't know why but today I decided to finished up my report as well as drink some coffee. I mean the report wasn't the first thing on my mind to go to the shop...mostly Serenity. I haven't talked to her since our last encounter, which was our first time to talk. Well we really didn't talk, I mostly just apologized.. oh whatever. I pushed the door open, my laptop tucked under my arm as I walked up to the counter to order.

Serenity
I heard the doorbell ring as another customer came into the shop. I peered over heads to see who it was, and I smiled when I saw Travis walking by the first few table windows. He'd been walking past the coffee shop at least twice a day for the last week, but hadn't come back in yet. I waited for him to reach the counter before walking over to take his order. "Look who it is," I said, smiling at him and cocking my head to the side. "What can I do ya for?"

[lauren.]

Travis;
I chuckled and shrugged,"Just a regular coffee,"I said smiling at her. Her smile definitely knew how to light up a room. I mentally shook my head, shut it Trav. You should like a freakin' creep.

Serenity
I laughed and rung up his coffee, telling him it was two fifty. "A corner table just opened up," I told him, peering over his shoulder at a table that had just been vacated.

[lauren.]

Travis;
I paid her and stuffed my wallet back into my back pocket. I glanced over at where it opened,"Thanks,"I said grinning at her as I nodded my head and headed over towards the table. I set my laptop up and turned it on, glancing over at Serenity.

I set to work getting his coffee cup, the carry pot, and some creamers. I walked over to his table and set the cup down, poured the coffee in, and handed him the creamers. "Need sugar?" I asked him, putting my weight on one foot.
