I smiled and shook my head, "Nothing," I said softly. I let the water cascade down my hair, the warmth thawing my cold body. I hugged myself, trying not to think about today's difficult task.

Peter.
I raised an eyebrow,"Alright, whatever you say,"I said as I began to run the soapy wash clothe against her skin, watching as the steam built up around us. I loved this woman here in front if me and wouldn't want anyone else.

Aspen,
I bit my lip to keep from smiling. The intimacy that we shared was something I would never want to give away. It made all the hard times worth it.

Peter.
It's been a very, very long day at work today. My boss got angry at me saying I was shaming the name of the company for being out in jail not too long ago. The way my coworkers look at me now makes me just want to drink everything away. I pulled into the driveway, seeing that Aspen was already home. I breathed in deeply hitting my head against the steering wheel. "Please let the rest of this day be better,"I groaned as I got out of the car, heading inside.

Aspen,
I was at the table, my computer on, coffee in my hand. I had quite a bit of paperwork to work on. I ran my hand through my hair, sighing. "It never ends!" I told myself, taking a sip of my coffee. Growing up sucked sometimes.

Peter.
I had walked in right when Aspen said that. I glanced behind me, just checking to make sure no one was there. "Uhh, what never ends?"I asked shutting the door behind me as I loosened my tie. I walked over to her kissing the side of her head, looking down at the mess she had sprawled across the table

Aspen,
"Work," I said, rubbing my face, "you try and relax and you just can't. There's always something else that needs tending. Anyways, how was your day?" I asked, watching him as he moved around the kitchen.

[lauren.]

Peter.
I frowned as I headed for the refrigerator,"It wasn't all that great. Boss heard that I was put in jail for not even a night and harped on my ass for the rest of the day. My coworkers look at me differently and don't act the same,"I said opening the door to look for a beer.

Aspen,
I frowned at his comment, then watched him, knowing exactly what he was looking for. "There aren't any in there. If you don't want them looking at you like that, then you shouldn't come home and do the same thing that ended you up in that situation in the first place." I drank some more of my coffee, remaining calm. Yes, I had gotten rid of his beer before he came home. It had begun.

[lauren.]

Peter.
I gripped the handle extremely tight, wishing it would break beneath my hands. "You got rid of it all?"I said in a low voice. How the hell could she get rid of it all? That's my money down the drain. I was the one who paid for it. Today definitely wasn't going to get any better.

Aspen,
"How else will you be able to stop?" I asked with a shrug. I got up, setting my mug in the sink. "You can't just get rid of some of it." I didn't look at him, I didn't even think about making eye contact with him right now.

[lauren.]

Peter.
I kept my eyes closed even though I knew she had loved into the kitchen now. I slammed the fridge door shut and hit it with the palm of my hand. "Aspen! I can't just quit cold turkey,"I yelled as I looked at her. I noticed she wasn't looking at me, which mad me even angrier. "Will you look at me!"

Aspen,
I jumped slightly when he slammed the fridge door shut. I swallowed, not listening to him when he told me to look at him. I held onto the sink, afraid that if I turned I'd just be faced with a beast. "If you don't quit altogether you never will," I said, remaining as calm as I could.

[lauren.]

Peter.
"This is going to go very bad, you know that right?"I growled. My chest was heaving with anger now, my body so tense that I needed it to be released. "It's very rude not to look at someone when you're speaking with them,"I said as I grabbed her shoulder turning her around rather harshly.

Aspen,
Oh god, it was happening. I looked at him, fear in my eyes. "Peter, you told me you would do this. You said you'd be willing to change. I'm trying to help you..." I trailed off, suddenly feeling as though I was three feet tall. He warned me that this was going to happen, and I needed to be strong- for the both of us.
