We can start now <3 We'll start when Des&Elle are at Jen's with her, Squee, and Melissa. And then Max&Jace can be at Jace and Carrie's still~ ____________________
Elle I followed Squee down the hallway to what I assumed was Jen's living room. Everything was very clean, and put up in its own place. I could already deduce that Jen's parents -- or, more than likely, just her mom -- were total neat freaks and minimalists. There weren't any unnecessary knickknacks anywhere, and almost everything other than the furniture itself was stark white. I actually liked it, overall. I thought all this while Squee ushered me into the den, and she immediately left my side to get everybody something to drink from the sodas lining the mantle. I chose to sit awkwardly on the couch beside Destiny. It had been an unusual first day, what with meeting Squee, Destiny, Melissa, and Jen, and then their constant talk of Jace and Max and Ben and Carrie, always Carrie. I guess it could have been worse, though. I could have sat b y myself all day, acting like a total loner and making everybody think I secretly plotted their deaths in my head.
Max Carrie and I had forced Ben to endure more BBT. Jace was just kind of along for the ride, but Care and I were having a blast laughing and Sheldon's antics.

Destiny I sat back on Jen's couch, fairly relaxed. Jen's house always seemed really cold and clinical to me but once you've been there a while you start to notice it less. Anyway, I was trying to concentrate on not spilling my drink because when I let my mind wander I tend to lose control over my hands and drop things and I could really do without being yelled at by Jen. So I focused on not dropping my drink. And watched the new girl, Elle. She seemed nice enough, if a little sarcastic and not entirely too pleased with being here. She probably just hadn't wanted to move here and that was why she was kind of pissy with everyone. She'd get used to the place eventually. It wasn't so bad here. And since tonight was Jen's party, which a lot of people showed up to, she'd have fun and maybe open up to everyone a bit more.
Jace I watched The Big Bang Theory half-heartedly. I got some of the jokes but I didn't find them as side-splittingly hilarious as Care and Max did. I was more focused on wondering what was going to happen at the party tonight. None of us had expected Ben to want to go to Jen's party because of what happened between them and to be honest I wasn't sure he'd be able to handle it. But he really wanted to and the most we could do was go with him and support him and try to keep him from getting too hurt again.

Elle Melissa and Jennifer played some card game on the floor for a while, until finally people started showing up in little groups. Most brought brown paper bags that looked stuffed with alcohol, and I'm pretty sure I saw at least three guys carrying a huge keg into the kitchen. As soon as the activity began, Jen left the card game and went to make sure nothing was being broken or spilled or mishandled, and Melissa cleaned up their things so she could get into what she was beginning to continually call her "party mode." I wasn't sure I wanted to know what Party Mode was, but I had a feeling I was going to end up hanging out by the mantle and the sodas most of the night. I got up and sighed now, as a matter of fact, and got myself a glass of Sprite.
Max I laughed at another joke, then checked the time on my phone. "What time do you guys want to leave? Are we making an entrance?" I asked Ben and Jace as Carrie loudly swore and sprinted from the room, yelling that she had to get ready.

Destiny I got up and followed Elle when she went to get a drink. "Are you okay?" I asked, stepping up beside her and tilting my head. "You don't seem too happy to be here." She didn't, I was only saying the truth. Maybe she thought the party was going to get too out of hand. Fat chance with Jen around. She was way too uptight to let anything too bad happen in her house. Besides, her parents would kill her if anything got too loud or messed up.
Jace "I don't think we're making an entrance," I shrugged, glancing over at Ben. "No, let's just ... go. No entrance," Ben nodded, sitting up. He looked a bit unsure of himself now, but he wouldn't change his mind. He never did on these kinds of things.

Elle I looked at Destiny and gave her a small smile. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. And really, I guess this won't be so bad, I'm just not much of a party person, ya know?" I figured she'd understand. She didn't seem like much of a party person, either.
Max "I want to talk to her while we're there. Jen. Can you guys like distract her friends so I can?" Ben blurted out, and I looked over at him with a weird look on my face. He was getting into this whole party thing. It was a little worrying.

Destiny I nodded. "Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm not much of a party person myself to be honest, but it can be fun once you get used to it. Just need the right people around you," I shrugged, smiling.
Jace I looked at Ben, my brow furrowed in confused. "You want to speak to her? Are you crazy?" I said, shaking my head. He must be. Really.

Max "No!" Ben said indignantly, and I looked at him incredulously. "Bullshit." He sighed exasperatedly and rolled his eyes. "Could you guys just help me?"
Elle "Yeah, I'm sure..." I said quietly, looking around the nearly-full den. There weren't any familiar faces that I saw at first, but then I noticed Squee's red hair from behind some taller guy's mouth, her arm outstretched and her hand tightly holding a red cup. And there was Melissa, talking to two guys by the patio door, twisting hair between her fingers while they nervously looked from her to all the other girls in the room. I couldn't see Jennifer anywhere. Finally, I turned back to Destiny. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Jace I shook my head, wondering if he'd hit his head lately and was suffering some kind of brain malfunction. "Fine, we'll help you. But y'know, don't come running to us when something bad happens. We're warning you now," I nodded, folding my arms.
Destiny I smiled. She might just be coming round to actually liking people. Who knew. "Everyone kind of goes off and does their own thing but they'll all come back into a group eventually. I'll introduce you to some people later on when more get here, if you want?" I suggested, tilting my head. It was the least I could do to help her fit in.

Max Ben pouted -- no joke, he seriouslu pouted -- and slumped on the couch, crossing his arms over his chest. "You guys don't know anything about what happened, so you can't sit here and tell me what I should and shouldn't do. You just don't know." I looked at him like he was insane and pitched in, "And whose fault is that?"
Elle I looked at her, still not really sure about her, or her friends or Squee or anybody else whom I'd met since starting at Arnold, but she seemed like she genuinely wanted to help me. "Yeah, that'd be great. Thanks," I said with a little smile.

Jace "It's certainly not ours," I said, adding on to what Max said. It wasn't. He'd refused to tell us about it. I didn't know if he'd told Care but if he had she hadn't said anything about it. So how were we supposed to know? All we were aware of was that he was a complete mess when the relationship ended so something must have gone wrong, and badly.
Destiny Oh, she smiled. I was getting somewhere. It seemed like her first actual, genuine smile even if it was only tiny. I was so counting that as an achievement. "Great. It shouldn't take long for people to start arriving now, give it about half an hour and everyone should be here."

Max I sighed and slumped back in the couch. "I guess we're just going to have to go and see what happens," I said, more to Jace than to Ben. Speaking of, he just got up and walked away. Sigh. I raised an eyebrow at Jace and shrugged.
Elle I nodded, feeling the pit in my stomach grow bigger and bigger. I wasn't sure if coming to this party was a very good idea or not, now. Maybe I wasn't ready for a big crowd of people.

Jace I shugged back at Max. "I guess we're just going to have to let him do whatever he's going to do. He can't say we haven't warned him though." I leaned back in my seat, tapping my foot on the floor.
Destiny I watched her facial expressions. She seemed kind of worried, probably about all the people coming to the party. I didn't really blame her, they could all be kind of horrible when they wanted to be. But as long as you stayed on their good side you were pretty much okay. Elle didn't seem like she was one for causing trouble either, so it wouldn't be hard for her to fit in hopefully.

Max I shrugged and looked back at the TV. "He knows what he's doing."
Elle I shifted a little, and took another drink of my soda. I spotted Squee coming over to Destiny and I, the boy she'd been making out with previously trailing behind her.
