I smiled and turned around in his arms, standing on my tiptoes and kissing him for a long second before pulling back and taking his hand. "C'mon, I'll show you the kitchen."

I led him to the kitchen, where Dad was making Joey a peanut butter and banana sandwich. My kid sister eats some weird crap. "Micah's staying for dinner. Is that alright?" He looked up from cutting the sandwich down the middle and shrugged. "Sure. You're always welcome," he said, sending a smile and nod Micah's way. I sat at the island bar and leaned forward on my elbows. "What d'you want for dinner?" I asked, smiling and patting the seat beside me for Micah.

Joey grinned up at Micah, mid-bite. "Sandwich," She said, gesturing to the other half still on her plate. "They're yummyy." I laughed and shook my head. "I'll make a salad, Dad, if you just want to order pizza," I offered up, squeezing Micah's hand gently.

Dad shrugged yet again and said, "Whatever you kids want. I'm going to go change Joe, she got sauce on her from Day care." He picked up Joey, who was still carrying her last half of sandwich, and left the room with her, whispering quietly in her ear.
