I chuckled and looked out at the ocean. She must not have much experience with guys considering the blush of just asking if she had a boyfriend. I wonder if she thinks I'm being annoying, maybe coming on to strong. I glanced down at the sand sifting between my fingers again.

I glanced over at him, somewhat embarrassed. Did he think I was being naive and stupid? I felt like I was acting that way. "Do you have a girlfriend?" I blurted out, feeling my cheeks blush even deeper as I quickly looked away, hoping he didn't see.

I grinned a loopsided grin as I watched her. She was definitely a down-to-earth kind of girl, on the shy side a little. I'm sure once she gets to know me she'll come out of her shell, hopefully. I chuckled softly and looked back out at the water.
