Valarie,
"I can't! You told me that you're parents are very...traditional and don't like being surprised. Well hello, I'm an American. That should cause them to have a freaking heart attack,"I whined softly as I looked at him. From what he told me about his parents.. It seemed like they won't be very accepting of me. I sighed softly and closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down.

I sighed, "Well the hell with them then. I'm not concerned about what my parents think. I know how I feel about you, that's all the matters. If they want to act like snobs then they can," I told her as we pulled into the driveway. The house almost a house bigger than mine. It wasn't necessary at all.

Giovanni,
I sucked in a breath before I got out of the car. I opened her door for her as she stepped out. I took her hand and squeezed it tightly as we made our way to the door. I knocked on it, knowing how they would be. My mother opened the door, giving me a warm smile, "Oh Gio il mio amore, how I've missed you," she said as she embraced me. "Ciao mamma," I told her as I kissed her cheek. "This is Valarie, my girlfriend," I said. She looked up at me, then over at Valarie as she looked her over. She gave her a small smile, "Pleasure to meet you," she said, "Do come in." I already knew that she was skeptical of this.

I gave his mother a warm smile as I stepped in, completely entranced by all of the stuff. Gorgeous stuff. "You have a lovely home,"I told his mom with a smile.

"Thank you dear," My mother told her as she called in my father. "Adrian, Gio is here!" She called. So far she was being decent. I kissed Valarie on the head, reassuring her. My father entered the room as he came over and shook my hand. "It's good to see you again," He told me as I nodded. "This is Valarie, dad," I told him as he looked over at her. I could see his face as he already knew she wasn't Italian. "Pleasure to meet you," He said a bit dryly, holding out his hand for her.

My smile faltered a little at how his father had spoken to me. I shook his hand firmly regaining my smile,"It's nice to finally meet you all,"I said as I dropped my hand to my side. My heart was pounding because I knew that they didn't like me.

I cleared my throat, "Valarie has been staying with me for about a month now," I told them. "Has this kept you away from your work?" My mother asked me as I sighed. "No mother. Everything is running fine." They never listened.

I bit my lip as I sort of sunk intoGio's side. I definitrly felt like I didn't belong here and they didn't want me here. I've never felt so helpless in my life.

I felt Valarie move closer to me. I knew she was uncomfortable. "Will you excuse us?" I asked as I slid my arm around her waist, leading her out of the room. Once we were away I lifted her chin to look at me. "Please don't let them bother you," I said softly.

I breathed in deeply as I avoided looking him in the eyes,"They don't like me. That's hard to let go Gio,"I said quietly as I bit my lip. This isn't fair. Why couldn't they like me? Obviously his parents are racists.

I didn't want to look at him. Because I didn't want him to see the hurt that was running through me or the tears that were stinging the back of my eyes. I breathed in as I looked at him,"Okay,"I whispered. I wanted them to like me...so much, because I love their son and I want to be with him.
