Landon,
Here we go again. "Lydia please!" I almost yelled. "Can you just stop? Why won't you let anyone in? You just push anyone away who tries to get to know you. And if they say something wrong you blow up in their face. I'm only human." I said, stopping where I was. I wasn't going to keep running after her-it wasn't worth it.

[lauren.]

Lydia.
I stopped walking as I fisted my hands. I turned sharply on my heal to look at him,"I don't let anyone in because I get hurt every single time,"I said as I stared over his shoulder but not at his face. "I don't want to let anyone in because I can't trust anyone anymore. They could be lying to me and try to turn my in for the wanted money listed,"I said finally looking at his face. "But I'm not the only one not letting someone in here,"I said. I didn't say any of this in anger or in hatred. It was more dead pan than anything.

Landon,
I let out a frustrated sigh. "Don't you think that if I was going to turn you in I would've done something by now? Maybe I actually want to be your friend?" I stared at her, debating on whether or not I should tell her...I pushed it back, ignoring her comment.

[lauren.]

Lydia.
I shook my head,"Buts that's how it works,"I said moving closer to him as I stared/glared at him,"They get close to you, act like friends, and then out of nowhere the police found you in the woods where you've hidden for a good amount of your life. Do you know how many times I've had to move around this forest to keep from getting caught?"I asked raising an eyebrow but didn't let him answer,"Seven times. Seven times I've had to rebuild my camp. Seven times,"I murmured quietly. Seven times I was a complete fucking idiot for letting someone in

Landon,
I stared at her, seeing the pain in her eyes. How could someone do that to her? I knew that even if I said I would never do that she would never believe me. "Why do these people do this? For the money? Because if that's what you think I want you're sure as hell wrong." I told her simply.

[lauren.]

Lydia.
I looked at him, not knowing what to do. I wanted to believe him but I just couldn't. "Of course it's for the money. And to see peasants get what they deserve. They're usually rich people who are greedy as hell and only want more. Or some are poor and do want the money,"I said shaking my head as I crossed my arms.

Landon,
Of course, that was an easy way to lose someone's trust. "I assure you Lydia, I don't want money. That's the last thing I want." I said, looking away, before looking back at her. "I just want someone I can talk to, because that's what I don't have."

[lauren.]

Lydia.
I gave a small laugh,"Right. You don't want money,"I said rolling my eyes. I bit my lip as I stared at him, trying to decifer him.

Landon,
I wasn't going to tell her why I didn't want the money. "Listen, believe me or not I don't care, but I know what I want and that's a friend. If you're going to turn something like that down then that's your problem."

[lauren.]

Lydia.
I raised an eyebrow then covered my mouth slightly to keep from letting a laugh out,"A friend?"I asked staring at him. Why would he try soooooo hard to have me as a friend?

Landon,
I narrowed my eyes at her, "You know what? Forget it Lydia. I have never met something who tried to hard to push someone away. Just forget all of this," I said as I turned away from her, walking back. I wasn't going to struggle with someone who didn't even want it.

[lauren.]

Lydia.
I stopped laughing as I stared after him. I glanced around suddenly feeling embarrassed. "Wait.."I called after him, only taking one step forward. What the hell? This is what I wanted for him to just walk away. Why was I stopping him though?

Landon,
I stopped in my tracks, actually surprised that she was...well stopping me. I turned around, folding my arms as I looked at her. "Yes?" I asked, staring at her.

[lauren.]

Lydia.
I opened my mouth to say something but then closed it again. What did I want to say? Why had I stopped him in the first lace? "I'm sorry,"I said biting my lip. "It's all just...hard."

Landon,
I put my hands down as I looked at her. "Have you ever had anyone that, well, cared about you?" That was the only reason I figured she would act like this. Without the love it was hard to return it to anyone else.
