as a musician, thinking I had it all when I started with
small performances. Now I'm working in a coffee/bookstore
thinking about returning to college if nothing fantastic pops up.

Casey,
I had just come back from expelling another spirit from a couples home, something that I was far used to now. I sat in a quiet coffee shop in Illinois, flipping through the journal that my parents had left for me. It was filled with everything I needed to fight off these demons. I studied page after page, consumed by this book I swore I could read with my eyes closed. I sat in a booth by the window, and I probably should have been drinking some coffee (considering I was in a coffee shop), but I was distracted.

Alex.
I was serving the customers who had just come in and asking customers who had been in if they needed anything. I loved the job that I have and I wasn't sure I would have found it unless I had dropped out of college. Though during my shift I was distracted by a guy who was sitting in a corner booth for awhile without ordering anything. I grabbed my pad and pen heading over to him. "Hello, my name's Alexandria. Can I get you anything?"I asked.

Casey,
I looked up at the voice that was speaking to me, closing my book as she spoke. I had to admit I wouldn't mind looking at her all day. I gave a small smile, "Just a cup of coffee would be nice; black." I told her. I leaned back in the seat, taking in a breath. None of this made sense to me. Why I was given this job, this gift. Why my parents had to be taken from me. Whatever the hell that thing was, I was going to end it once and for all. I guess I was staring into space, not realizing the girl was still there.

Alex.
I could tell he had something pretty deep on his mind and kind of felt rue for interrupting him. I cleared my throat,"Alright. One cup of coffee, black,"I said watching him for a moment longer before heading back to the counter. I don't think I had ever seen someone so lost in thought before. Hopefully he wasn't like planning on doing anything bad. Plus that book he had seemed pretty creepy.

Casey,
I blinked twice as I watched her walk away. I had the tendency to forget that others were around me. I quickly opened the book again, running my hand through my hair in frustration. There was nothing in here about what could've killed my parents. Nothing made sense. I glanced up once more, looking at the red haired girl, Alexandria. There was something about her-it was different. But I knew better than to get involved in anything.

Alex.
I poured the coffee and took it back over to this mysterious guy. "Here's your coffee. Is there anything else you need?"I asked as I glanced at his book trying to see what it was but it seemed to me that the pages might be blank? I blinked again but looked back at him.

Casey,
I smirked, "Yeah, an answer." I said under my breath. I cleared my throat, "No, that'll do it, thank you. By the way, you're a very attractive women." I told her. Dammit Casey, you told yourself you wouldn't get into this mess. You had other things to deal with.

[lauren.]

Alex.
I was a little stunned by what he had said but brushed it off. I didn't want to get in any mess like that. "Um,"I said flushing slightly,"If you need anything just let me know,"I said as I quickly walked to a different table to clear it off. Who just blurts something out like that?

Casey,
I huffed, angry at myself for doing something stupid like that. The foolish teenage boy came out in my every once in a while. I took a sip of my coffee. The coffee shop had a small television, and my eyes adverted to it once some breaking news came on. A man was killed in his car in his garage, said to be suicide, in this very town. I raised my eyebrow, knowing that I had a gig.

(Remember she needs to instigate their relationship eventually, because he needs to tell her it's a bad idea and whatnot.)

Alex.
I had seen what happened on the tv, extremely shocked. That man was a regular here in the shop and nothing seemed wrong with him that he'd commit suicide. I sighed softly as I glanced around at the customers watching their expressions.

Casey,
I stood up during the broadcast, gathering my things. I walked back over to Alexandria, hoping she'd be able to help me. "Excuse me, Alexandria was it? Did you know this man at all?" I asked.

[lauren.]

Alex.
I cleared my throat as I took my eyes away from the customers faces to his,"He was a regular here. A really nice man, he didn't show any signs of..suicide,"I said shaking my head. I couldn't help but notice how extremely good looking he was. He was tall..which made me like him much more.

Casey,
I nodded, "Did he usually come in here alone? Or was he with someone most of the time?" I asked. If she said that he didn't seem like that man to commit suicide, I had a strong feeling it wasn't. I watched her look at me, her eyes captivating me. It wasn't good.
