I gave a humorless chuckle and sighed looking down at the sand. "I'm fine,"I lied as I looked back over at Delilah. I don't want to open up to her then...get it thrown back into my face. I mean, I barely even know her.

I nodded my head, although I was pretty sure he was lying. Positive, actually. One doesn't just disconnect themself from all of their friends on a mere whim. "Okay."

My heart began pounding as she got up to leave. Say it. Just spit it out. Tell her. But for some reason I couldn't get it out. I nodded slightly,"Okay,"I said quietly, erasing what I had wrote in the sand.

I felt my heart literally deflate as I walked away. I felt even worse because I couldn't even bring myself to wave goodbye to Delilah.

I looked up when I heard someone next to me. I saw Delilah glaring down at me. I chewed on my lip as she pointed to Marly then hit me on the top of the head. I groaned,"D,"I muttered as I quickly got up and went after Marly. I cleared my throat,"Marly,"I called out.

I walked up to her, standing in front of her. I glanced over to make sre Delilah was okay and saw her watching us. I looked back at Marly, noticing how short she was compared to me. "I'm sorry I've been ignoring you I've just been having some family issues,"I said biting my lip.

I looked up at him, kind of accidentally wide-eyed, but I nodded and looked off. "It's fine. I, urm, kind of know how that is at the moment. Is...urm, is everything alright, though?" I asked him, still pretty sure there was something he wasn't tell me.

I groaned quietly,"Marly-"but I was cut off by my phone ringing. I sighed frustrated and answered. As I listened, I felt my whole body freeze staring off into nothing. "She's gone,"that's all I heard the doctor say into the phone before everything went chaotic in my brain.
