I wiped the sand from my jeans and pulled my knees to my chest. What was going on with Jordan? I sighed and closed my eyes for a second, just feeling the salty wind blow my hair every which way. I wished it could just whisper the answers to all of my questions in my ear. Sadly, the wind was silent.

Jordan;
Pulling my truck up into the parking area, I heard Delilah squeal a little bit causing a small grin to display on my lip. I got out and helped her down from the truck,"Careful D, don't go near the water,"I called after her as she headed towards the sand laughing. I leaned against the truck a little, keeping a close eye on her.

From behind me I heard little kids squealing, but I squeezed my eyes shut tighter and laid my head on my knees. "Ugh," I softly groaned, so confused. I wanted to help Jordan -- ohgawassomethinggoingonwithDelilah? -- but I had no clue what to do.

I closed my eyes just for a moment as I rubbed them. When I looked back I saw Delilah going straight for the water,"Shit,"I muttered as I pushed away from the truck, running for her. "Delilah! Get away from the water now!"I shouted at her.

I heard a shout this time, and I shot up in the sand, seeing Delilah running toward the water and Jordan jumping the barrier, sand flying after him. I put two and two together and began jogging toward Delilah. She wasn't far away. "Delilah!" I called out calmly, waving my hand at her. "Delilah, hi," I said, smiling at her.

Delilah looked over at Marly and grinned big and started over towards her instead of the water. I sighed and slowed myself down, frowning because I had sand in my shoes now. I took my shoes off so I could walk better in the sand. I swallowed as I looked over at Marly as Delilah approached her. This was going to be awkward, considering I was a complete ass to her.

I smiled and took Delilah's hand, looking up to see Jordan there, holding his shoes. "Hey," I said quietly, smiling at him. He'd kind of rejected me earlier and I might be a little pissed about that, but something was wrong. I could tell. If it was bad enough that he was basically isolating himself from people, it was bad. I was worried.

I gave her a weak smile,"Hey,"I said clearing my throat,"Thanks for stopping her,"I said, lowering to Delilah's height giving her a stern look. "Didn't I tell you not to go by the water?"I said raising my eyebrow at her. Delilah pouted her lip and hid behind Marly's leg. I rolled my eyes and stood back up.

I smiled and led Delilah out from behind my legs. "Oh, we caught her in time, then, didn't we?" I asked teasingly, ruffling the little girl's hair.

I chuckled quietly as Delilah giggled and hugged Marly's leg. Delilah then pointed towards a little boy playing in the sand. I nodded,'You stay away from that water though,"I told her sternly and watched as she went that direction.

I cleared my throat and looked down at the sand as i sunk my toes into it. I sighed heavily,"I shouldn't have been so rude to you earlier,"I said, still not looking at her. I'm afraid if I looked at her I would break down.

I looked at him when he spoke, smiling slightly. The sun was starting to set already; fall was definitely setting in. "It's nothing," I said, wrinkling my nose a little. "You weren't really rude, anyway, just in a rush to get Delilah. I understand."

I rubbed the back of my neck as I looked over at Delilah, making sure she was okay. I sighed and sat down in the sand, feeling helpless. But then again, I didn't want any help.

I looked at him for a second before hesitantly sitting beside him in the sand. "Jordan," I started, biting my lip and looking out over the water, "are you alright? I guess I mean, is something wrong?" I glanced at him and licked my lips nervously, staring at the water again soon enough.
