Valarie;
I began eating, swallowing before I answered,"I was born in Maryland but I moved to New York after I moved out of my parents house,"I said, marveled by the food. It was delicious.

Giovanni,
I smiled, "I've heard wonderful things about New York. Was there anything particular that you wanted to do there?" I asked. I was curious; I always asked a lot of questions.

[lauren.]

Valarie;
"Start fresh. Make a new life. Meet different people,"I said as I looked across the table at him. Loosen up, Val. You're trying to make an adventure. Forget about everything back home while you're here.

Giovanni,
"Well I think you're doing a good job of that," I told her. "I honestly think you can't live life without having fun. There's no sense in doing something you hate," I told her, my eyes meeting hers. She was gorgeous.

[lauren.]

Valarie;
I felt a small shiver run through my body as our eyes met. "Though sometimes it's hard to have fun when you're so busy worrying about the next day. I guess that's why I started to travel, because you can't really plan anything out and you don't have to worry about anything,"I said as I continued eating.

Giovanni,
"You know I never really thought of it that way," I told her. "What do you do for a living?" I asked. I really just wanted to know more about her. She was so...mysterious.

[lauren.]

Valarie(
I finished eating and sat back crossing my legs,"Right now, I'm a waitress at a small restaurant. I haven't finished school yet because I haven't figured out what I want to do yet so I'm taking some time off to travel and figure out what I want to do with my life,"I said simply. I was shocked with myself though at how freely I just spoke to him without hesitating on information.

Giovanni,
"I would love to be able to do that." I said with a small smile. I let out a small sigh, "I basically have my life made for me and it's honestly not what I want to do." I told her.

[lauren.]

Valarie;
I wrinkled my nose slightly,"Hmm, I know how that feels. Being told you have to go to school for a certain degree. Then having your parents tell you you're gonna work this job, you're gonna marry this person, live in this house close by, and have this many kids,"I said smirking slightly at my parents faces when I told them no and to back off.

Giovanni,
I smirked and raised my eyebrow, "All the way down to kids? Wow," I said with a small chuckle. "It seems like we aren't so different," I said, "It's just harder for me to say no to my parents."

[lauren.]

Valarie;
I laughed,"Yes all the way down to the kids. It was hard for me to say no to my parents also but it ended up getting so suffocating that I had to put my foot down,"I said as I glanced around. I really wanted some alcohol at the moment, something strong. I was opening up way too much to this stranger.

Giovanni,
"We'll that's the best thing you can do. It's pretty daring, but you can't live your life the way someone else wants you to live." I said. I was being such a hypocrite. I needed to take my own advice. I shook my head and called the waiter over, asking for a few drinks. I needed a clearer head.

[lauren.]

Valarie;
Thank God he asked for drinks. I tilted my head slightly,"You say this yet you are still at your parents feet,"I said. "Are you scared you'll lose everything?"I asked, because I sure did.

Giovanni,
As she spoke the drinks arrived and I instantly took a drink. "Sadly yes. My parents only want me running the family business, and they don't plan on supporting me otherwise. I feel like I would be basically helpless if I just dropped everything."

[lauren.]

Valarie;
I quickly took a drink also, loving the burn slide down my throat. "Seems all too familiar to me,"I said shaking my head slightly. I wanted to talk about something else. This was too deep for a stranger. I glanced around,"So born and raised here in Italy?"I asked.
