I stared at where she had thrown the cigarette in the trash. I took a quick swig of beer and the followed her to the livingroom. I stood behind the couch and began to massage her shoulders,"maybe we just need to find better jobs,"I said as I kissed her shoulder .

I shut my eyes as he massaged my shoulders. "But they're good paying jobs Peter, I can't just leave something that offers me so much," I said with a sigh. "It just has some days where it's too much for me." We were both successful and such young ages, I didn't want to lose that.

I shrugged,"They may pay good but does that really matter if you're miserable all day?"I asked as I continued to massage her shoulders. Maybe if she wasn't so stressed with work and being pressured then possibly she wouldn't smoke so much?

I breathed in deeply as I placed my hands on the back of the couch,"Calm down, Aspen. It was just an observation. You don't have to quit,"I said as I pushed away heading back into the kitchen. I rubbed my temples and took another drink.

Aspen,
I growled under my breath as I watched him leave the room. I had to admit I'd been a little uptight lately, but I had every right to be. I walked into the kitchen, grabbing another cigarette from my pack before lighting it up. I walked out to the backyard, sitting down on the porch as I took a long, slow drag.

Damn, she was definitely at it today. I finished off the beer and then searched for something a little more stronger. I grabbed the bottle of whiskey and a glass, heading into the living room and took a seat on the couch. In about five minutes I had possibly drunk over six glasses and did that feel good

I sat outside for about ten more minutes before I got myself together. I needed to apologize to Peter for acting like a bitch. I put my cigarette out before walking back inside. "Peter I need to talk t-" I paused when I saw him on the couch, "are you drunk?" I asked, in disbelief.

I looked at the glass in my hand then at the whiskey bottle. I gave a small chuckle,"Well, looks like I am,"I said taking another drink. I glanced over at Aspen, my vision blurry. Who cares if I'm drunk? I stay out of people's way.
